Bottles bottoms blew out, May 28, 2013

Three of the bottles blew out because of the pressure from carbonation which is a big part of bottling beer… a good bottle should stay together. I was promised replacement bottles twice and never received anything. Very disappointed in the company will not buy from them again !!

Using them for Kombucha. Came quickly via UPS with no damages. Only problem I’ve seen so far is that the caps (plastic, not ceramic stoppers) don’t make an optimal seal. My kombucha has gone a little flat after bottling.

Not the REAL EZ Cap “brand”, May 31, 2013

UPDATE 12/3/2013

I am adding a star as a load of cider I bottled to these carbed up well and the caps, so far, look as though they’re ready for another round of bottling. Might add another star after another few brews

While I don’t know if “EZ Cap” is an actual brand, some company is putting a certain caliber of bottle out on the market of excellent quality with lids that have replaceable grommets. These bottles lack the EZC blazon on the bottom and the quality of the glass isn’t as crystalline. There’s a certain waviness to these. Also the bale wire that holds the lid down on the bottle lip has a really greasy machine oil/petro-grease smell to it. I will revise this once I’ve actually conditioned some cider and beer in these. See video for more detail. These really should be labelled as Swing-Top only. Also, shipping took weeks… thankfully, nary a bottle was broken on arrival.
