This is a sturdy, quality brew kettle. It’s made from a professional-grade 10-gallon stock pot, so it is fairly heavy and dissipates heat evenly. I haven’t gotten any scorched spots on the bottom, even with my 100,000 BTU burner on full under a fairly high gravity wort. I calibrated the thermometer and it is accurate to within a degree or two at most temperatures.

My only issue is that it took some work to get the spigot and thermometer on tight enough so that they don’t leak. I also wish they were both mounted a little lower. You’ll lose about a gallon at the bottom, which is a bit more than I expected (of course you can cheat if you don’t mind getting a bit of the hot break in your fermentor). I may get a dip tube eventually (have a bazooka screen on there now). The thermometer sits at around the 5 gallon point, so if you’re heating up a smaller quantity of water for mashing or sparging, you’ll need to use a separate thermometer for that.

This is a great pot. I’ve had no problem assembling it and no problems with leaking. It works great on my high powered induction burner.
