This siphon provides an easy method for bottling from a smaller container I use this siphon obtained from Home Brew Ohio to bottle Kombucha tea from 1-gallon brewing jars. You need to attach 5/16″ (or ⅜”) siphon hose to it (I used Midwest Homebrewing and Winemaking Supplies’ 6 ft 5/16″ ID siphon hose for this) which is the only real tricky part because the siphon hose must be warmed sufficiently and you need to be gentle when you work the hose onto the tip of the siphon pump tube – too much pressure on the bend could possibly break it at the bend. The hose doesn’t…

Great product! Works great! One push gets the siphon started. Or, it can be used without a tube on the outlet as a single action pump.I think the problem that a coupls of reviewers had with the siphon action not starting was caused by not using a tub on the outlet. The exit has to be lower that the level of liquid you are siphoning from to get a continuous flow on any siphon.

Worked fantastic… for SMALL carboy! Incase it hasn’t been said enough, only get this for small carboys like 1gal. I tried using it on a larger carboy and failed by no fault of the product, but instead not reading carefully. It worked incredibly well at acquiring siphon and actually maintained siphon far longer than I had expected it to (given that I was pushing its limitations). If the larger one works this well, I’d have no problems!
