Here at Northern Brewer, we’ve spent countless hours in the Brew Lab eliminating every obstacle that stands between beginning brewers and the perfect homebrew. We got rid of the mess, the mystery, and every possible brew day mishap. And when we were done, what was left was a small but revolutionary box containing everything you need to create the perfect brew…our Small Batch Starter Kit featuring Irish Red Ale.

Irish Red Ale: Irish ales are malty, smooth, medium-bodied, and most, like our kit, are a deep copper-red color that is created by a blend of specialty malts. Our malt blend also gives this recipe its signature toasty and sweet aroma and flavor.

Just follow the simple instructions and within just a couple weeks, you’ll yield a gallon of homemade, handcrafted beer (approximately 8-10 twelve-ounce bottles) – more than enough to make an unforgettable impression at your next party.

Kit includes:
1 gallon fermentation jug with cap and airlock
Mini Auto-siphon and tubing
Bottle filler
8 oz Easy Clean cleanser
Bottle capper and pry-off caps
Irish Red Ale 1 gallon recipe kit

Required but not included:

2 gallon kettle
Approx. 1 dozen 12 oz beer bottles for pry-off caps

We had a great time brewing beer We had a great time brewing beer. Our expectations were low, so just having drinkable beer was a bonus. After completion of brewing and enjoying our beverages, we discovered a couple on inconsistencies. Not all the beer had the exact same flavor. Two of the 10 beers had a slight off taste. Not bad just off. We also noticed the carbonation was different between bottles. Northern Brewer provided very detailed instructions via a DVD, so I have to chalk up the inconsistencies to Brewmeister…

Tastes better than Sheiner Bock. Fermentation took very long. After one month I bottled it according to the instruction. I stored the filled bottles at room temp for about two weeks. The liquid looked dark and hazy. Then one week in the fridge. Beer tasted surprisingly good. The bottles had a lot of residue in the bottom though.

Considering Home Brewing? I have been considering trying my hand at home brewing for a while now since I LOVE craft beers. After looking through all of the starter kit options I decided to give small batch brewing a try. This kit contains everything needed to brew 1 gallon of beer, except the bottles. Here are some great features to this kit:1. The kit includes everything needed to brew your own beer.2. The price is awesome for anyone who is unsure whether they want to try their hand at brewing or not…
