Made this beer kit and kegged it. Dry hopped it with an ounce of centennial for 10 days in the secondary fermenter. My buddies rated this the best beer I’ve ever made. You will not be disappointed. I used White Labs WLP-001 single vial and it came out awesome!

I’m a fan of Pale Ale’s and this one is pretty decent. My only complaint is that the recipe originally called for 1 oz of Cascade hops for the entire boil, but there was an addendum in the kit that called for a second addition towards the end of the boil (which they included). All in all it came out a little too bitter for me, so I think the original recipe would have probably been better.

I purchased this as a hobby my son (over 21) and I could do together. We followed the directions, boiled and bubbled, strained and contained, bottled and capped and then waited…. and waited.. By the 4th week we uncapped one and it tasted like swill. To be fair, I had the beer resting in the fridge which was not in the directions. Disappointed, I left it there to rot. While I was away, my husbands friends came across it and not being ones to pass up free beer, they drank most of it. They were so impressed and told my husband it tasted like the craft beer that you buy in the expensive microbreweries. What??!! Intrigued, I left a 6 pack on the counter to rest at room temperature. Then we tried again. The beer was creamy, bubbly and not too over hoppy, just like real good beer! I was so hoppy, I mean happy. We just ordered the Oktoberfest, and this time I will follow directions more closely.
